This is how the online school chess competition works
Participating is very simple. You don't have to do anything for it. As soon as one of your students participates in a chess tournament in the Arena, your school is included in the ranking. Every week a new competition starts on Monday. After the last tournament on Friday, the final standings of that week are drawn up.
The school score is the total of the high scores of the four best chess players from the school. For each student, the best personal tournament result of the week counts. The children can even play their way into the school team on Friday afternoon. This keeps it exciting until the last moment.
What does it look like?
The student participating in a chess tournament sees a team card on their screen in the playing room, which is displayed as a button:
By clicking on the button, the team card is enlarged: You then see the four best players from your school and whether you are in this team or not. This player is in the team:
This player is (not yet) in the school team:
The teacher cannot be in the team themselves but can follow the achievements of their team. This is what you see when you are logged in with a coach account:
In the podium ceremony after the tournament, the standings of the school ranking are shown. Click on it to enlarge. The team of 'ronb' is in the top 5. You can see this by the orange bar in the standings:
