Frequently asked questions
What is the Chessto Week Championship?
The Chessto Week Championship is an online competition for schools and families for which the points count that the children achieve in the chess tournaments in Chessity. As soon as one of your students/children participates in a chess tournament in the Arena, your school/family is included in the ranking. Every week a new competition starts on Monday. After the last tournament on Sunday evening, the final standings of that week are drawn up.
On the Statistics tab, you can see where your school/family stands in the interim standings of the current week and which children have played their way into the team. The children see this on their start screen:
How often do you get the chance as a family to achieve a performance together as a team? In the Chessity week competition, you can do that weekly. The whole family competes together against other families, with each family member contributing to the family success.
At schools, the chess competition helps to create a lively chess culture. It promotes group formation and mutual connection between students in a playful and sporty way. The school competition is a real team effort, to which all students - across groups - can contribute and share in successes. At many schools, participating in the tournaments is therefore a fixed part of the chess lessons.
